From April 30th to May 5th, the National Centre for the Performing Arts’ Taihu Stage Art Center will transform into a “Jazz Paradise” - featuring over 200 renowned jazz artists from 9 countries across 7 stages, with non-stop spectacular performances throughout the event.
This year’s festival has been upgraded in scale, featuring legendary jazz masters like Mike Stern and Dennis Chambers delivering electrifying improvisations, Benny Benack III’s vintage vocals and mesmerizing trumpet performances, alongside international artists including Canadian saxophonist Yannick Rieu, Latin America’s Saracotia Trio and Adrian Iaies Jazz Trio, as well as Austrian accordionist Christian Bakanic, all bringing their extraordinary talents to the stage.
The festival will showcase China’s top musical talents in rotating performances, including jazz pianist Li Quan, vocalist Joanna Wang, trumpeter Li Xiaochuan, percussionist Gu Feng, the ethereal HAYA Band, Jia Yinan Jazz Band, Red Groove Project, conductor Zhang Bingbing, pianist Tan Xiaotang, Jia Fan with China Film Orchestra, Qin Sifeng Jazz Ensemble, Jasmine Chen Jazz Band, Huang Jianyi Jazz Quartet, and blues powerhouse MOJOHAND - delivering an unparalleled listening experience of China’s finest jazz offerings.
Building on the distinctive features of the Taihu Stage Art Center, this year’s Jazz Festival continues its multi-stage, multi-venue performance format, achieving dual breakthroughs in both performance space design and artistic innovation. Notably, the newly designed Stage Art Container Theater stands as this year’s groundbreaking performance venue at the festival. Its staggered container structure creates a natural acoustic environment, delivering audiences a truly unparalleled live music experience. During the festival period from May 1st to 5th, the Taihu Stage Art Center will open to all audiences daily starting each afternoon.
