From April 18 to 26, the 15th Beijing International Film Festival is being held in Beijing. When you step into the Beijing Municipal Administrative Center (BMC), you can not only immerse yourself in the vibrant film charm at the modern cultural landmark, Universal Studios Beijing, but also savor the rich cultural heritage of the ancient city by the intertwining blue and green of the Grand Canal.
Universal Beijing Resort
Located in the BMC, Universal Beijing Resort offers seven themed areas where movie scenes come to life. The immersive experiences let you step into the shoes of movie protagonists and enjoy their adventures, fulfilling the “movie dream” of tourists.
You can wave your wand in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and experience the magic, or interact with Optimus Prime at the Transformers Base and feel the allure of technology. Watch globally synchronized new films in the IMAX theater of Universal CityWalk Cinema and enjoy a top-tier audiovisual feast.

Beijing (Tongzhou) Grand Canal Cultural Scenic Area
Next, head to the 5A-level tourism site, Beijing (Tongzhou) Grand Canal Cultural Scenic Area, which served as the filming location for The Water Transport Wharf, witnessing the prosperity of ancient canal transport. Stroll along the historic dock and feel as if you’ve traveled through time to experience the depth of history.
The scenic area includes key sites such as the Tongzhou Lighthouse Pagoda and its surrounding ancient buildings, Canal Park, and the Water Transport Wharf. It is divided into three zones: North, Central, and South, combining history, culture, sports, and ecological landscapes—making it a new “business card” for the Sub-Center.
Three Major Cultural Facilities of the BMC
The three major cultural facilities of the BMC (Beijing Performing Arts Center, Beijing Library, and the Grand Canal Museum of Beijing) are key places to explore canal culture and experience the charm of art. In the Grand Canal Museum, uncover the origins of canal culture; in Beijing Library, understand the connections of culture; and in Beijing Performing Arts Center, enjoy the fusion of art and film history, allowing you to swim in the ocean of culture.
Parking Guide
Tourists can park at the P12 and P7 parking lots on the west side of the venue, or P8, P9, P10, and the Y1 emergency parking lot on the east side at the Central Green Forest Park.
