On the occasion of the 30th World Book Day, the 2025 Beijing Book Fair, themed “Bookish Beijing, Joyful Spring Reading”, will be hosted by the Beijing Municipal Publicity Department and organized by the Beijing Publishing Group. It runs from today (April 22) to May 5. As one of the regular activities held by the Beijing Cultural Forum, this book fair will bring together the latest achievements in the publishing and distribution industry, integrate high-quality resources from culture, commerce, tourism, and sports, and promote cultural collaboration in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

For this spring book fair, a sub-venue will be set up in the Beijing Municipal Administrative Center (BMC), with the exhibition running from May 1 to May 5. It promises to deliver a cultural feast that is youthful, artistic, and accessible to the public.

The venue is located in the shared spaces of three major cultural facilities, offering a diverse selection of books and a wide range of interactive experiences. Exhibition areas will include themed publications, selected book sales, “Old Books, New Knowledge” sections, parent-child reading areas, special bookshops and cultural tourism exhibitions from Tongzhou, cultural and heritage collections, creative lifestyle products, and more. This will provide local residents and tourists with the latest books in categories such as social sciences, literature, and children’s books, as well as high-quality cultural products like creative home décor, illustrations, and handmade arts.

At the same time, the venue will collaborate with activities such as the Tongzhou Zhangjiawan Fashion Festival, Taihu Jazz Festival, and the Grand Canal Opening Ceremony Festival, launching a “BMC Cultural and Tourism Recommended Route”. Tourists will have the chance to not only explore the book fair but also enjoy music, traditional folk activities, and a one-stop experience of “visiting the book fair, touring scenic spots, and enjoying life”.
