According to Taihu Town, the Beijing Red Sandal Wood Cultural Industry Park will commence construction before the end of this year in Wailangying Village.
Once completed, the project will complement the China Red Sandal Wood Museum located in Gaobeidian, Chaoyang District, forming a new landmark that highlights red sandal wood art and traditional Beijing culture. It will also enhance the quality and upgrade the performing arts industry of Taihu Performing Arts Town.

The project is located at the southeast corner of the intersection of Zhangtai Road and Tongtai Road, covering approximately 52.87 mu (about 3.52 hectares), with a total construction area of 55,000 square meters and a total investment of approximately 315 million yuan. In the future, this site will become a large-scale cultural complex centered around the exhibition and exchange of red sandal wood artworks. It will feature multiple functions including a cultural exhibition center, intangible cultural heritage workshops, trading platforms, and a redwood market.

According to reports, not far from this project in Hujiafa Village, the long-established Fuhua Ecological Garden faces clearance of greenhouse structures. However, the garden houses tens of thousands of precious red sandal wood artworks, which are in urgent need of a professional exhibition space.
The construction of the Beijing Red Sandal Wood Cultural Industry Park will center on the display and exchange of these red sandal wood artworks, using modern technology to showcase its culture and traditional Beijing arts. On this basis, it will also expand to demonstrate the production processes of intangible cultural heritage crafts, training, exchanges, and supporting commercial functions.
The project will plan to build a cultural exhibition and exchange center, spaces for master creation, custody and transaction platforms, a redwood trading center, and intangible heritage commercial spaces—creating a one-stop destination for intangible cultural heritage experiences.
Once completed, the industry park will form a cluster of cultural landmarks alongside the NCPA Taihu Stage Art Centre, engage in a cultural dialogue with Universal Studios, and become a new icon showcasing the cultural charm of BMC.
