Central Green Forest Park Becomes Beijing's First "Zero-Carbon Park"

Central Green Forest Park recently received carbon neutrality certificates issued by TÜV SÜD Group and Beijing Green Exchange Co., Ltd., achieving authoritative dual certification both domestically and internationally. It has become Beijing's first "zero-carbon park across the entire area."
This certification marks the first internationally recognized carbon neutrality project in a park area implemented under the coordination of the Beijing Investment Group Co., LTD. It also represents another breakthrough in green and low-carbon development, following the park's recognition by the National Energy Administration as Beijing's sole exemplary case of green and low-carbon energy transformation in 2024.
Covering a total planned area of approximately 11.2 square kilometers, the park is the most vibrant landmark of BMC. It is a key part of the "one belt, one axis, two rings, one core" green spatial structure and carries multiple urban functions. Since the park’s planning and construction, Beijing Investment Group has adopted energy-saving and carbon-reduction measures across all phases—including design, construction, and operation.
By treating polluted soil and implementing ecological restoration, the park enhances regional carbon sinks. It has also implemented full lifecycle management of regional carbon assets and carbon emission reduction controls, transforming a former industrial area into a thriving green marvel. Carbon reduction at the source helps lower greenhouse gas emissions, improve environmental quality, and promote green development. Using a combination of local distributed photovoltaics, ground-source heat pumps, and water-based thermal storage, the park is driving a green revolution in energy supply, establishing an integrated multi-energy system. Renewable energy is used as appropriate for the park's heating needs.
