Winter in Tongzhou sheds the resplendent blossoms of spring and summer, revealing instead the authentic charm of the water city. Cycling at this time allows riders to both feel the profound historical depth of the millennium-old canal and appreciate the ecological beauty of the water city in harmony. Let us embark on this carefully planned cycling route and encounter a winter along the canal like no other.

Stop 1: Willow Wharf
Liuyin Wharf exudes a distinctive charm in early winter. The recreated “Willow-Shaded Dragon Boat” scene presents an even more rustic ambiance during the winter season, making it a perfect prelude to the canal cultural journey.

Stop 2: Crescent Island with Birdsong Viewing Platform
Ride approximately 2 kilometers north along the west bank of the canal, where reeds appear like snow and reflect beautifully upon the emerald water. Ascending the Crescent Island Viewing Platform for a panoramic view, on Level 1 the canal stretches like a ribbon, with boats cutting through the shimmering waves; on Level 2 the cityscape of Tongzhou unfolds, where ancient and modern buildings are harmoniously interspersed; and on Level 3, a full panorama of the BMC comes into view, encompassing the entire urban center.

Stop 3: Infini Town
Continuing north, riders will reach Infini Town, nestled within the woods. The wooden architecture glows warmly under the winter sun, contrasting beautifully with the austere surrounding trees.

Stop 4: Canal West Bank
Further north lies the newly emerged trendy landmark—the Canal West Bank Activity Zone. This 1.3-kilometer waterfront area remains lively even in early winter, with 17 featured commercial stations along the river offering riders warm refreshments. Here, visitors can enjoy the seamless integration of modern commerce and natural scenery.

Stop 5: Dipankara Buddha Dagoba
Passing through bridges of unique character, riders arrive at the northern emblem of the Grand Canal—the Dipankara Buddha Dagoba. The ancient Dagoba, set against the blue sky, appears even more majestic in early winter, with surrounding historical buildings standing silently as if narrating the thousand-year history of the canal transport.

Stop 6: Dropping Dew from Lotus Bridge
From the north gate of the Dipankara Buddha Dagoba, ride east to encounter the Dropping Dew from Lotus Bridge, glittering like dewdrops. In winter, the bridge’s contours are even more defined. Cycling across it feels like gliding among lotus leaves, while the observation platform offers breathtaking views of water merging with sky.

Stop 7: Caoyun Wharf
Ride south along the east bank and pause briefly at Wharf No. 2. The final destination, Caoyun Wharf, exudes solemnity in winter, with its ancient buildings standing along the water, evoking a sense of temporal travel.
