Beijing International Urban Agricultural Science and Technology Park

Push open the door of a greenhouse at the Beijing International Urban Agricultural Science and Technology Park, and warm, humid air infused with botanical fragrance greets you. Sheets of vibrant green vegetables unfold before your eyes. Surprisingly, these vegetables do not grow in soil—they “live” upon cultivation pipes. Square and cylindrical pipes are arranged in graceful order, flourishing with verdant leaves full of vitality.

The pipe-based soilless cultivation system uses water instead of soil and nutrient solution instead of fertilizer. These pipes can also be customized to create visually artistic agricultural landscapes.

Currently available for picking: carrots, cauliflower, chayote shoots, cherry tomatoes, leafy greens, and more. Visitors are warmly welcome to come and experience the joy of harvesting.

Beijing Yuanmengyuan Agricultural Cooperative

Established in July 2014, the Beijing Yuanmengyuan Agricultural Cooperative covers 176 mu. It is located 500 meters south of Luozhuang Village in Huoxian Town, along the scenic Gangou River.
Since 2016, the cooperative has focused on cultivating flavorful tomato varieties—Jingfan 308 and 309—as well as watermelon and fruit radish. In 2018, the park became the sole agricultural base of the Tomato Research Institute of the Beijing Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences to apply selenium-rich enzyme throughout the entire tomato-growing process. By 2020, the entire farm adopted selenium-rich enzyme cultivation for all vegetables, and by 2021, more than ten vegetable varieties—including tomatoes, watermelon, fruit radish, celery, eggplant, beans, and melons—were successfully enriched with selenium.

The farm has obtained organic certification and was awarded the title of Beijing Ecological Farm in 2023. It produces more than 1,200 tons of vegetables annually.

Currently available for picking: fruit radish, garland chrysanthemum, spinach, leafy greens, and other naturally grown products. You are warmly invited to come and enjoy the harvest.
