Enhanced Bus Service in the BMC — T107 Route Connects Directly to the Metro Total Length: 10 Kilometers

To promote a culture of respect and care for the elderly and to uphold traditional Chinese virtues, the Passenger Transport Company No. 5 of Beijing Public Transport Group has upgraded the T107 “Care for the Elderly” Route, improving age-friendly transport accessibility and enhancing comfort and safety for senior passengers.
By using buses as mobile carriers of cultural warmth, the company has advanced its elderly-friendly service initiative. Following the successful introduction of themed “Care for the Elderly” buses on Route T107, two new Chongyang Festival-themed buses have been launched.
The interior features festive decorations and slogans such as “Lasting Affection on Double Ninth” and “Wishing You Health and Happiness on Chongyang Festival,” creating a heartwarming travel environment for elderly passengers.
The T107 Route runs from Dong’an Road to Zhaodengyu Street in Tongzhou, covering 10 kilometers. It passes through major residential communities such as Langfangyuan, Huashijiang, and Liyuan Dongli, as well as the Yunhe Tongyuan Farmers’ Market, and connects directly to Subway Line 1 (Batong Line) and Subway Line 6. A significant proportion of its passengers are elderly. To meet their needs, the bus team has conducted specialized training and accessibility drills to assist senior citizens and wheelchair users.
The team has also introduced the “Four Gentle Movements” Service Principle—gentle start, gentle stop, gentle turn, and gentle tone—ensuring safe and comfortable rides through rigorous adherence to traffic safety protocols.
Looking ahead, the Passenger Transport Company No. 5 will continue to focus on addressing the travel needs of elderly passengers, carrying out diverse and engaging programs to further enhance age-friendly public transport services. The goal is to build a civilized, caring, and inclusive commuting environment, where respect for the elderly becomes an integral part of every journey in the BMC.
