The Original West End Musical
Singin' in the Rain will once again take the stage at the Beijing Performing Arts Centre in the BMC from February 5 to 14, 2026.
The musical Singin' in the Rain is adapted from the classic MGM film of the same name. Since its debut, it has consistently been voted by audiences as the most popular film-to-musical adaptation. It also has earned four Olivier Award nominations and widespread praise from critics and media. Singin' in the Rain features songs composed by Nacio Herb Brown and Arthur Freed.
Synopsis: The story is set in the 1920s, a period when Hollywood was brimming with glamour and prosperity. Silent film star Don Lockwood has everything one could envy: a string of box-office hits starring him and a meticulously crafted "romance" with the city's most beautiful actress that leaves everyone envious. However, Don is unaware that the silver screen is about to find its voice, transitioning from silent films to talkies. In a chance encounter with a talented young chorus girl, Don's heart is stolen—an event that changes not only him but also Hollywood and everything else.
In early 2025, the original version of the musical Singin' in the Rain made its debut in China, performing 16 shows at the Beijing Performing Arts Centre in the BMC, captivating audiences and sparking a craze for "splashing with joy together" and "singing freely in the rain." Now, from February 5 to 14, 2026, they will bring London's rain to Beijing once again.
Lead actor Grant Almir, alongside international touring lead actress Charlotte Gucci and a star-studded cast, will deliver a romantic celebration with splashing rain and joyous spectacle!
