On December 20, the Beijing LIVERSE Art Center, a cultural landmark complex in Taihu within the Beijing Municipal Administrative Center (BMC), will officially open as the national flagship venue.
The name LIVERSE derives from the concept of a live-music metaverse. The new complex features standardized infrastructure, top-tier stage design and audio systems, as well as online platforms for ticketing, venue booking, and backstage management, and will incorporate XR (extended reality) and holographic imaging technologies. By integrating offline concerts with online live-streaming, LIVERSE will provide world-class musicians and artists with an immersive music performance venue that meets international standards.
The LIVERSE center is located in what was formerly a warehouse in Taihu Book City. Originally serving as the logistics, storage, and distribution center for the book complex, the large structure offered considerable potential for renovation and reuse.

The newly redeveloped site now houses two LIVERSE theaters, along with five clusters of supporting facilities, including performance and rehearsal spaces, digital-scene areas, immersive commercial zones, and cultural-industry clusters.
In addition to the Beijing LIVERSE Art Center, the renovated complex will also feature a "Vibrant Plaza" and art exhibition galleries nearby, further enhancing the performing arts landscape in the BMC.
